Work as a Team
14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. 15 See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.
I was watching some baseball on the sports channel and saw a team in which one player was arguing and shoving his own teammate. It wasn’t a pretty sight to see that other teammates had to separate them and the coach will need to deal with the conflict within the clubhouse. If the team is not united and playing as one, there will be trouble and tension in the clubhouse.
This passage says that we should live in peace with everyone and to be holy. In the church, we are all from different backgrounds and cultures and there can be a chance of conflict and bitterness that can occur if we don’t work and make an effort to make the peace with each other. The end result of not living in peace with each other will result in bitterness that can eat at your heart and cause you to drift away from God.
