The Right Path
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord and shun evil.
8 This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones.
I had some old equipment at home collecting dust, so I put an ad for it on an online site and after a few weeks, somebody asked to buy it. We set up a time for him to come up to my home and I gave him the address. I gave him a deadline of twenty-five minutes as I had to head out. He came by just in time before I had to go. He said that his GPS gave him the wrong address because he misspelled my street address. Since I gave him the intersection, he was able to figure out that he was in the wrong place and re-entered a new address into the GPS.
We can go through life thinking that we know the way that we are going. Some of us will make great plans with every detail on what we want in our jobs, our family and our children. God reminds us that we should not be wise in our own eyes and think that we do not need guidance or help from a God who knows what is best for us. Sometimes, we need to realize that we are at the wrong place in our lives, go back to God to get our bearings on our direction. He will help to make our paths straight and ensure we are on the right path.
