Skilled in Doing Good
22 “My people are fools;
they do not know me.
They are senseless children;
they have no understanding.
They are skilled in doing evil;
they know not how to do good.”
The school season is over and my children are so happy about getting a break from school work and reading. That was until I gave them an assignment to still read something everyday. I want them to be safe and still learn something during the summer. As a parent, you do want the best for your children and you want them to have understanding and to be skilled in doing good.
God is a long suffering God as he has to deal with stubborn people. He has chosen Israel to be His own and has saved them from bondage in Egypt and brought them out to the desert. He was preparing them to have their own land and to be a great nation. Instead, they rebelled and wanted to be like the other nations around them. God wanted His children to be wise with understanding and to do good just as I want what is best for my children. God’s character doesn’t change when he looks at you and me. We are still His children and we should be skilled in doing good.
