6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7 Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.
Most of us love a great deal when we save money on our purchase. Something that we would buy on an on-going basis and goes on sale is a bonus as you can stock up on that item and save the extra money for other uses. We do make it a habit to browse through the weekly flyers to take advantage of any sale of an item we would normally buy. If there is a discount on something that we don’t like, then it wouldn’t make sense to buy it even if we are saving a lot of money.
God offers something to us that is free of charge. It is not an item that we wouldn’t care to have. In fact, this is something that we would all love to get our hands on if we could. We will have access to water from the spring of the water of life. Perhaps this is the same water that Jesus was referring to when he spoke to the Samaritan woman at the well. He promised that she could have access to living water. There is also a condition of victory that must take place. Those who are victorious will inherit this, so it helps me to understand that there is no reason to quit and give up on the spiritual journey. It’s worth it to make it to the end and receive our reward in heaven.
