Inspired by God
2 Peter 1:19-21(NIV)
19 We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. 21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
There is a lot of information on the Internet and I find that even on reputable news web-sites, they have some ‘sponsored’ links that looks like newsworthy information. It has a catchy title that will say something like ‘Five things not to eat before you sleep” or “Ten best ways to get washboard abs”. These are more like ads to get people to leave the regular site and to go elsewhere. It is driven by ad revenue.
When reading these articles, they are not necessarily true and some of them are quite exaggerated.
When it comes to the Bible, there is some controversy on the origins of the Bible and who wrote the word of God. Lucikly, the Dead Sea Scrolls were dug up and the these were the oldest manuscripts found that matches the word of God. It shows that the Bible was written by man, but they were inspired by God. Peter says that man cannot write their own prophecy, but they spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
