How to be Transformed
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
Creation can take form in so many ways. Take a look at the metamorphosis process and how a caterpillar spends most of its life crawling on and devouring its food source. When approaching adulthood, it wanders away to a safe spot in which to pupate or transform into an adult and happens inside a protective shell known as a chrysalis. Inside this shell, there is a transformation into a butterfly. It’s an amazing process. The old body is gone and the caterpillar is now a new creation.
If you do have faith and perseverance, you can overcome any weakness you have and be transformed. The first transformation takes place when you devote your life to Christ through acceptance of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus through Baptism. (John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.)
We can continue the process of transformation on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis. Some changes can take a long time. Other changes can be done based on a decision you want to make that day! Not everything needs to be long-term.
Our mindset and perspective can change as well. In Romans 12:2 (NIV) Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.), we need to change our way of thinking to be like-minded with Christ and not of the world.
Think of the day ahead and how you can change your mindset from negative to positive; from quitting to persevering; from being a failure to being a success. Forget past failures and think of them as stepping stones of wisdom in which to continue forward.
