God Doesn’t Change
6 ‘I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
I went into the sporting goods store last night to sharpen some hockey skates. In the back were many boxes of unassembled bikes. I inquired about the bikes and they told me that they are starting to clear out the winter products and gearing up for the spring. The store was going through a process of change as is all of the other retail stores. In the computer industry, as a new model is introduced, the older units are reduced in price to clear. Change is all around us and we also go through our own change in our wardrobe, styles and tastes.
Although we change as we age, the Bible gives us some confidence that the standards set by God for having a relationship with Him hasn’t changed. We don’t need to chase to find out what we need to do this year. It says that we need to love God with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength. Philosophies will change in the world, but we have confidence that God and Jesus will not change in how they love us.
