Charged To Your Account
12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—
13 To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone’s account where there is no law.14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come.
When we buy something at the store, we can use different methods to make a payment. The easiest one is to use cash. However, the growing and popular methods are to use electronic payment systems such as a debit card or a credit card. You can only buy as much as you can afford, but most people will use their credit card, which allows you to buy something even if you don’t have money in your account. At the end of the statement period, the charges will go against your account and you will need to pay.
Sin was in the world before the law was given. When God gave the laws, sin starting to be charged against our account and continued to pile up. As we kept on sinning, the debt burden continued to climb so that we cannot pay our debts. Jesus has died for our sins and has taken away the debt on our account that we will never be able to pay back.
